About twenty-five years ago when my dentist in West St. Paul relocated, I had to find another. Darlene and I chose Dr. James Black as our new dentist. We've been very happy with the dental care we've received from Dr. Black. Over the years, besides taking care of routine dental procedures such as regular six-month check ups and cleanings, Dr. Black has addressed a number of my family's personal dentistry needs. Darlene and I have had several root canals and crown restorations done by Dr. Black. When our children were in need of orthodontic braces, they were referred by Dr. Black to an orthodontist in downtown St. Paul.

Dr. Black has also helped me in treating a mild sleep apnia condition that I've had for about ten years. When I'm at home, I prefer to use a C-PAP machine that prevents me from snoring. However, sometimes when I travel or go on long sailing trips, I don't like to haul my C-PAP device with me. Several years ago, Dr. Black fitted me with a dental device known by the brand name of Silent Night. It looks like a mouthguard that athletes use in sports like football or hockey. When I place it in my mouth, it forces my lower jaw forward by a slight amount which prevents me from snoring. With the Silent Night mouth piece, I'm able to get a good night's sleep and no one is kept awake by my snoring.

Even though we no longer have employer-provided dental insurance, Darlene and I have continued with Dr. Black as our dentist because he and his staff of cheerful, friendly, dedicated professionals strive to give us excellent care. Mike & Darlene K.
